Amanda Bernett
Graduation Year: 2020 Majors/Minors: Biology, Dance / Psychology Get to know me: Hi! My name is Amanda Bernett. I am a third year student who hails from the distant lands of Chicago, studying Biology, Dance, and Psychology. I love to dance in any spare time I have, and accordingly, am heavily involved with two dance groups on campus, Steam Heat Dance Company (treasurer) and Refresh Dance Crew, as a dancer/performer and choreographer. In addition, I am involved in New Movement Project (secretary), and participate in events held by the biology student association (BSA) and the undergraduate premedical society (UPS). I conducted research last summer, as a research assistant in Feinberg's Department of Physical Therapy, studying Human Movement Sciences and specifically how movement and activity affect quality of life for older adults. I also volunteer at Symphony of Evanston, a nearby nursing home, which I have been involved with since the end of my first year here at Northwestern. In contradiction to the brutal cold in Chicago and my almost constantly busy schedule, I really do enjoy spending downtime outside in warmer weather, going for a run, hanging with family and friends, drinking tea, or reading a nice book. I love teaching and helping others grow to pave their own unique life path, and thus I look forward to guiding others as a mentor for PPMP. |

Here at NU, I’m co-president of Northwestern College Democrats and also part of Alpha Phi and CHC. I enjoy movies and, thanks to my Chicago-born parents, am a lifelong Cubs fan. |
